Commodore 8580 SID Voice Chip
Quantity Available: Less than 10
This could be your last chance to get your hands on a genuine Commodore 8580 SID chip. The legendary Commodore 64 computer's synth-on-a-chip crammed 3 voice channels and a resonant analog filter into a 28-pin integrated circuit.
These chips are 100% tested new old stock, manufactured by Commodore Semiconductor Group.
There were several variations of the SID chip. The CSG 8580 R5 is the final "most musical" version (manufactured between 1987 and 1992). It operates on 9V power.
If you're installing the chip into a SID2SID, Sammich SID or similar hardware device, please ensure it is powered by 9V DC and the correct 22 nF capacitors are installed. Consult the hardware manufacturer for details.
We test each SID 8580 chip to make sure that all three voice channels and the voltage controlled filter are operational. Slight variation between the sound of each IC is normal, and part of the SID charm.
Includes 1 Commodore Semiconductor Group 8580 R5 SID IC packed in an electrostatic protection box.
